Riding the Waves

Day 56

I was riding the ocean.

Soft, steady waves.

Slowly began to increase in tide.

I wavered a bit but held on tight.

I quickly learnt to tame them

They were pulling me deeper

Right into the middle

Rain poured down upon me

The roar and anger of the ocean

Shook my soul but I kept going

Then a deathly wave rose and engulfed me

I was deep inside, sinking within

Not afraid but embracing it.

Fighting it, until I rose again.

Jasmine

Day 55

Perfumed glowing light,

Spreading fragrance in the air.

Jasmine, in my abode.

I deeply inhale.

To catch a whiff of your aroma.

You stir up my senses.

So I close my eyes and revel

In your sweet perfumed embrace.

About Mornings

Day 53

There is something about mornings.

A fresh dampness in the air,

Calm, undisturbed terrain.

Light grey clouded skies.

Soft breeze rustling the leaves.

and birds chirping from afar.

The undisturbed innocence of the morning mind

Helps in appreciating these little things of life.

Missing Rain

Day 41

If I had to get attached and feel sad,

I would cry thinking of the rains..

that drizzled so lightly on muddy terrains.

Rain that touched the leaves ever so softly,

& fell off the branches onto the grass below.

I would miss the sound that accompanied me during quiet lonely days.

Rain that cleared the dark skies and brought some light into my gloomy days.

Touching fingers and kissing cheeks in surprise

Oh, sweet loving rain!

A Bird’s Song

Day 38

A bird fluttered around,

Singing a mysterious song.

No usual chirping or sounds of calling out.

It sang a deep, quaint song,

It was brief but melodious.

Eerie, sinless and sensuous.

The mellow, bold tune

Soon began to fade.

The bird passed into oblivion,

Only the song hauntingly remained.

A Boy on a Cliff

Day 35

On the edge of a mountain cliff,

A little boy settles down..

To glance up at the clear skies.

and to behold the magnificence

Lying ahead of him.

Serene natural splendour

Deep valleys and lakes,

Blessed forests and picturesque mountainscapes.

The little boy stops by everyday

To forget his story,

and to rejoice in nature’s glory.

Hello Rain

Day 34

Here you come again.

Hanging out on my window pane.

You give me chills when I step out in the open air.

You cause commotion on the lanes,

With puddles of muddy water here and there.

Yet, every time I see you,

I fall in love a little more with you again.

A Drifting Leaf

Day 31

Drifting in the air

A dried leaf

Sometimes lying on the ground.

Flying with the blowing wind.

Floating away

With no direction.

Wind, water, soil or rain

It settles wherever

Doesn’t complain

Glad about the change.
