Finding squirrels in the skies

Dearest Reader,
Do you enjoy playing badminton? It had been years since I last picked up a racket, but today, after a few failed attempts, I found my rhythm again. I played with such enthusiasm, breaking into a sweat, continuing until my hands and back protested! How exhilarating it was to lose myself in this game!
Today was beautiful, with the weather pleasantly overcast—the perfect kind of day to sit in the park, listening to songs, playing badminton, and indulging in chocolate and croissants. I’ve come to appreciate how well-maintained the parks are here. The Wayne Woods picnic spot, with its wide open spaces, has plenty of room for families to spread their blankets or sit at one of the many picnic tables.
What do you enjoy most when you go for a picnic? For me, it’s lying on the grass, gazing up at the sky, finding shapes like dragons and squirrels in the clouds, and letting time go by. We used to do that as children, didn’t we? We usually see trees from a straight-on view, but try looking up at the dense canopy from below, it is truly beautiful. And, of course, reading a book under the shade of a tree is a simple pleasure I hold dear.
That was my day—slow, relaxing, and wonderfully peaceful. I even ended it with appam and coconut milk for dinner (a South-Indian dish from Kerala). But let’s save food for our next letter, shall we? Until then, dear reader, go visit a park, play a game, and take a moment to watch the clouds float by.
I’d love to hear from you, please do write me a letter! My email address is nuraine.sadaf@gmail.com or share your thoughts in the comments. Have a lovely day! 🙂
