Letter #2 – 08/27/24

Marveling the simple pleasures

Dearest Reader,

Today I write to you from the comfort of my home, while looking out the window of my room. A hot cup of chai rests on the table beside me. The sun shines brightly in the clear blue sky, filling my room with warm, golden light. There is a light breeze and buzz of bees in the air.

I live in the peaceful suburbs of Pennsylvania, where life moves at a gentle pace, and the beauty of summer is all around. I wonder, what’s your favorite season? Summer holds a special place in my heart because it reminds me of my true home in India. There, the weather is perfectly balanced—neither too hot nor too cold. Yet, I find beauty in every season, for they all belong to nature, and I hold a deep love for Mother Nature. She teaches us resilience, lavishes us with love, and asks for nothing in return.

The colors of nature are to be marveled—the vibrant greens of the leaves, the rich browns of the soil, the endless expanse of the blue sky, the intense grays of storm clouds, the delicate beauty of flowers, the bold richness of roses, and the pure white of freshly fallen snow. And how can I forget the rainbow, like a burst of colorful candy in the sky!! A simple walk outside can bring such peace to the mind, I love when the wind brushes through my hair, softly kissing my cheeks. It’s all so wonderful isn’t it? These simple, pure pleasures that life offers us freely.

There, I got carried away, as I often do, lost in admiration of nature. Now, my dear reader, do you find solace in the gentle sway of the trees, or perhaps in the quiet dance of sunlight on your walls? Do tell.

I hope, wherever you are, you find time to pause and appreciate the simple pleasures around you. It’s in these moments of stillness that we can truly connect with ourselves–and, in a way, with each other? I look forward to hearing from you! Until later, let us both savor this moment and smile.
