Sunny days in June

It was noon, sometime in June, when the wildflowers had started to bloom.
A straw hat on the head for the groom and a dusty pink gown for the bridegroom.
In the golden light of the summer sun, people glittered like shiny pearls.
Glasses clinked, lovers winked, kids frolicked holding orange ice cream.
Eyes sparkled with merriment, there was a magical happiness in the air.
Celebrations, weddings, garden parties, on sunny days are always the best.

Hope in a Jar

Day 10 Inktober – “Hope”

Who knew that Vitamin Sunshine would become so important? All my life I have been hiding from the harsh rays of the sun and applying sunscreen when on the beach.

Now, I run out every time I see clear blue skies where the sun is shining bright. Thanks to the Vitamin D deficiency that has taught me to embrace light for a healthier life and a positive frame of mind. Hence, this drawing of my sunlight/hope in a jar.

Tender

The mind – a dim, hazy blur.

Restless muscles, not a second of comfort.

Deprived of sleep, a walking soulless spirit of the nights.

Mornings seem dark and groggy.

Every day, a new kind of pain.

Writing in the present state,

A futile attempt.

Twilight

IMG_1677.jpg

The sky has turned pink and blue.

The greyness of winter has brought in some hue.

The sun is going down the horizon

Leaving behind colors of twilight.

To hold on to;

Before returning,

To the stillness of a long black night.

Summers

Day 6

The summer is here

Bright sunny days

Hot rising air.

Time to put the

Sunglasses and sun caps on.

Get into those

Floral printed dresses

Colourful shorts.

Sip on some

Margaritas and cold coffees.
