To Do or Not to Do

Day 86

The days pass like a drifting leaf..

The time keeps leaving me behind.

With an upraised arm I run after,

Presuming it would wait.

When the realisation dawns on what is lost,

I scowl and settle on a plan of action,

To not fritter my time away.

But then again,

A confused, lazy thought perches

On my rational brain.

It longs for an aimless, uneventful day.

And so, I let my mind wander away.

Ah, so easy it is to do nothing but stare.

While my unread books,

Unfinished work,

Unanswered mails,

And gym awaits.

Misty Shadows

Day 81

She yelled from the inside of her lungs.

Believing the pain would leave her body.

But she only ended up feeling hollow.

The tears had dried up.

Nothing remained but sorrow.

So she tied a scarf around her neck.

And walked away into the misty shadows.

The Moon & The Girl

Day 80

Not so soon called out the moon,

If only I could see you a while longer.

Alas, she turned her back again

And walked into the room.

Every day the scene would repeat

The moon would wait patiently

To get a glimpse of her deep dreamy eyes

Oblivious, the girl stood in the darkness of the night

Looking vacantly at the moon

With longing and hopeless desires.

Driving Away

Day 76

When long stretches of empty roads begin to unwind

You secretly wish the journey never comes to an end.

All that surrounds are lush green trees,

Under the overcast skies.

Colourful bougainvillea leaves,

a book and a friend for company.

Eyes of a Stranger

Day 64

Those wide eager eyes,

Relentlessly peering into mine,

Tirelessly seeking for answers,

From the depths of my soul.

I look warily

Not giving away so easily

There’s uncertainty and reluctance

So to hide the brimming emotions

I blink and look away.
