Let it Snow

It’s snowing and it’s so beautiful! My hands and feet are frozen, there is a winter storm outside, but please let it snow.

It is such a wonderful feeling to watch snowfall. This year’s first snowfall. It has been snowing since afternoon and I cannot stop looking outside.

Walking on a fresh white blanket of snow, making snowballs and sliding down slopes with snowflakes falling on our nose feels like a sweet happy fairy-tale.

In weather like this wrap yourself in a blanket and watch the snow fall outside the window with a hot cup of tea and some fudge brownies on the side. Let the smell of freshly baked goodies fill your house with warmth. If only I had a lap cat so I could run my fingers against its soft fur while enjoying this amazing view.

I hear your voice calling me into the darkness of the night.

Longingly. Patiently.

I hurry down and see you waiting for me.

You reach your hand out for me to hold on to.

You look into my eyes and whisper,

Come, let’s fly.

Fly away into the wilderness of the night skies.

Tea Talk

I stir absently,

My rolling, boiling pot of tea.

A few more minutes of brewing

Will probably,

Give me the flavour that I so desperately need.

A few more minutes of brewing

Will leave behind lingering aromas

That are rich, earthy, and invigorating.

A strong, bitterly-sweet cup of black milky tea.

Is just what I need.

A Walk

Day 90

It’s all foggy as a dream.

Tall naked trees

As far as the eyes can see.

Autumn leaves, below the feet

Warm, cool breeze touches the cheeks.

The sky is a clouded blanket of greyness

It’s only you and the forest serene.

Breathe deep to inhale the misty breeze

Walk into the paradise of your dreams.

A Cab Journey

Day 82

He sat there by my side.

Losing his grip.

Getting frustrated.

He clawed his bag with impatience.

I sat quietly beside.

With no movement.

Staring hard into my book.

Hours went by in silence.

Then came the time for him to leave.

He left me hanging.

Handsome, random, cab partner!

Driving Away

Day 76

When long stretches of empty roads begin to unwind

You secretly wish the journey never comes to an end.

All that surrounds are lush green trees,

Under the overcast skies.

Colourful bougainvillea leaves,

a book and a friend for company.
