Fancy Gardens

Day 7 Inktober – “Fancy”

She loved watching the birds in her garden but every time she tried to get close to them, they would fly away.

Every day, she would attempt by going a step closer. Alas, they would fly away.

Some days, she would make sure the birds watched her filling their empty water bowls and bird feeder, yet they never came close.

So, she turned herself into a fancy garden and was never alone again.

In the twilight,
Holding a lantern in her hand,
She stepped out to sit beside him.
On the wooden bench
Overlooking the sea.
Together, they watched the calm waves.
There was a soft glow in the sky, a slight chill.
From the radio, a melodious tune filled the air.
They looked into each other’s battle-scarred eyes.
The sweet rhythm moved them to dance.
Slowly,
Lovingly,
Entwined in a warm embrace
They swayed like the waves
On their wooden porch.
In the soft glow of the night.

What is Your Idea of a Cosy Time?

*A cup of coffee with a chocolate chip cookie on the side.

*Turning out the lights and lighting up a few candles/fairy lights.

*Lying on the grass and looking up the sky.

*Cuddling on the couch with your fuzzy kitten/puppy.

*Sharing a blanket and watching a movie with your love.

*Lying on the bed with headphones and listening to your favorite music.

*Reading a book by the window while drinking hot chocolate.

*Staying up all night and sharing stories with your best friend.

*A cup of tea when it’s raining outside.

*Reading bedtime stories to your little ones.

*Writing a poem late at night.

*A long soak in a hot tub with scented candles.

*Sitting on your comfy armchair by the fireplace reading the daily newspaper.

*Rewatching old favorite movies for the 1000th time with a bag of chips.

Into Words

I hear your voice calling me into the darkness of the night.

Longingly. Patiently.

I hurry down and see you waiting for me.

You reach your hand out for me to hold on to.

You look into my eyes and whisper,

Come, let’s fly.

Fly away into the wilderness of the night skies.

The piano played

a sweet soulful tune.

With the keys,

her feet tip-toed on the floor.

Bending and rising like a ballerina.

She flowed like a river was inside of her,

Gliding and sliding with the notes

The rhythm played

invitingly in the air.

Soon with the mystical melody,

she faded.
