Stay

I have tried and tried
So many times,
To win your heart,
To make you smile.
But every time I try,
In your fright, you
– hide and cry.
I continue to wait with a sigh!
Will it take days or ages?
Come and stop by my side.

Let it Snow

It’s snowing and it’s so beautiful! My hands and feet are frozen, there is a winter storm outside, but please let it snow.

It is such a wonderful feeling to watch snowfall. This year’s first snowfall. It has been snowing since afternoon and I cannot stop looking outside.

Walking on a fresh white blanket of snow, making snowballs and sliding down slopes with snowflakes falling on our nose feels like a sweet happy fairy-tale.

In weather like this wrap yourself in a blanket and watch the snow fall outside the window with a hot cup of tea and some fudge brownies on the side. Let the smell of freshly baked goodies fill your house with warmth. If only I had a lap cat so I could run my fingers against its soft fur while enjoying this amazing view.

Kiss and Make Up

There was some kind of silence in the air.
Each blamed the other for being cold.
She craved attention.
He was guilty for being away.
She waited to be pampered.
He was afraid of her anger.
They turned away and slept in silence.
All the while missing each other.

Sharing Life

Day 25 Inktober – Buddy

He held her hand and showed her the world through his eyes.

She looked up to him and followed him around.

Sometimes he wouldn’t share his things and make her feel sad.

But he would make up to it by taking her on a bicycle ride.

Together they spent hours building with Lego blocks and playing pranks.

Together they laugh, they play games, they fight, they share stories, and their lives.

Her first buddy – her brother, because friendships always start at home.

Fancy Gardens

Day 7 Inktober – “Fancy”

She loved watching the birds in her garden but every time she tried to get close to them, they would fly away.

Every day, she would attempt by going a step closer. Alas, they would fly away.

Some days, she would make sure the birds watched her filling their empty water bowls and bird feeder, yet they never came close.

So, she turned herself into a fancy garden and was never alone again.

In the twilight,
Holding a lantern in her hand,
She stepped out to sit beside him.
On the wooden bench
Overlooking the sea.
Together, they watched the calm waves.
There was a soft glow in the sky, a slight chill.
From the radio, a melodious tune filled the air.
They looked into each other’s battle-scarred eyes.
The sweet rhythm moved them to dance.
Slowly,
Lovingly,
Entwined in a warm embrace
They swayed like the waves
On their wooden porch.
In the soft glow of the night.
