Silence of the night
Was broken by a
Shrill distant scream.
Haunted castle.
Restless ocean.
Dreary thunderous night.
Dusty curtains.
Lost footsteps.
Creaky wooden floors.
Dirty hingeless doors.
Rusty leaking taps.
Sleepy rabid bats.
Withered old trees.
A rustle on dried leaves.
A shadow with the breeze.
A lacy low-cut red gown.
A gasp.
A silent forgotten scream.
Day 68
Ghastly dark clouded sky,
Is this a warning, asking us to hide?
Lightning has begun to strike,
You are soon going to pour down
With all your might.
I fear what’s coming on tonight.
Show mercy, cause no havoc this time.

Day 45
The cold blowing breeze of the night,
Comes again to send chills down the spine.
Relentless deep breaths,
Seem to be of no help.
Clenching on the sheets..
Eyes shut tight,
Beads of sweat on the brow.
A hair-raising whisper by the ear,
And a shrilling scream is heard again.
Day 43
A dark labyrinth,
Like a shadow I walk.
Looking around.
Searching for something,
A way out probably.
I spend hours and days,
Struggling. Somehow surviving.
Days go by,
And then a ray of light.
I pound towards it,
I feel ecstatic,
A cry of joy,
The relentless efforts have paid off.
I step out only to realise, something is amiss
Dreams of dark alleys,
Maybe I belonged to the darkness
The struggles, the pain, the uncertainty.
And so I return,
Into the labyrinth.
Day 28
If only the mind had simple thoughts
Then life wouldn’t be in a troublesome state of affairs.
The greed and desires are many
They never seem to come to an end.
Utter helplessness leads to a fear
Of being consumed
by yet another cloud of dark sadness.
Day 11
The dark is mysterious
Fear, uncertainty.
But why the worry?
Hasn’t it always been quiet
Undisturbed and calm.
