I am sorry, I was away.
When I arrive,
I will search in your eyes
for longing and desire.
I guess,
you would miss me.
When I arrived,
You never turned my way.
Or look towards me.
You even failed to realize,
I was away.
I am standing by your side.
With longing and love in my eyes
Hoping, one day you’ll turn my way.
Love.
A beautiful emotion,
the lesser said the better.
It is a feeling that needs
to be experienced.
Love is best seen in the eyes of your loved ones.
You know when that affectionate warmth is meant just for you.
You know that their hearts melt
when their lips slowly turn into a smile
every time they see you.
You know your love would give up everything
just to be with you.
Love is a feeling that slowly kills
a little bit of you,
yet you love..
Because it keeps you alive.
She asked me, “What is life?”
So, I sketched her.
There is something
about romanticising
In old forgotten cities
Just two souls
Standing atop broken-down towers
Like conquerors.
She gathered all of her courage
and melted in his arms.
The rhythmic beats of his heart
Were the only melody of her life.
She asked me to write a story about her one-sided love.
It was all just alive in her mind.
She had created scenes that had never happened. She imagined the words that he had never said.
She lived in a world of dreams.
She thought he was her prince.
Silly girl, what was she thinking, he only spoke to her once and she gave away her heart so easily.
While, he had forgotten about her and went on with living his life, the girl continued thinking about him and hoping that he would call.
Now, many years have passed.
In a random conversation, she tells me.. that she is still in love with him and that she knows where he lives. But she dare not make an effort to reach out for him because she has a family to care about.
She only has one burning desire.. and that is to get on her best friend’s nerves and waste her time by giggling and talking about the stories from her past.
Small hurried steps,
The girls stepped out of the cottage..
Holding mugs filled with hot chocolate.
They sat atop the hill,
Looking up at the starry sky
With a blanket over their shoulders.
They looked into each other’s eyes and giggled
and shared their first kiss
Ever.
Day 92
A friend spews poison.
A loved one shows hostility.
Another blocks me.
Someone ignores me.
And you roll your eyes at me.
Why the cold heartedness?
Why so unkind and bitter?
I often try to understand humans..
No matter the love and care,
It never seems to be enough.
Day 91
You asked me to tell you my story,
Were you truly eager to know me?
When you looked into my eyes,
what did you find?
When you held my hand,
did you promise to stand by my side?
You sought for ‘your’ happiness,
never mine.
And, then you blame me for being a disappointment.
Day 83
An unworldly soul
Has been abruptly discarded
From her roots.
All the while,
She was under the shadow
Of her protectors.
Now, she is all by herself.
Lost and abandoned.
She reaches out for her roots
To seek support.
Alas, they seem to have forgotten her.
