Slow down to take a breath,
to observe what’s around you.
Slow down and give yourself,
A moment of stillness;
and in that moment you might find a memory,
a memory left behind,
unattended in the chaos of life.

I took a break from formalities and sat down on the floor.
To bask in the sunlight and look up at the blue skies.
I allowed a moment for myself and let out a content sigh.
You are enough
You are enough,
just as you are.

More than twinkling stars,
There are twinkling airplanes
In the night sky.
What does darkness mean anymore,
When the light’s always by our bedside.
In search of darkness,
We now go deep inside our minds.
Door
Call it a window
Call it a door
No matter what you say,
For you, it’ll always remain closed.

The night has fallen,
you are hiding behind the clouds
I await on these deserted grounds
pining for your love.

It rained all night,
she stayed awake and hummed
an old forgotten tune on the window sill
the white lace curtains
swayed with the breeze
the curls of her hair danced merrily
then why did a glistening drop of water
trickle down her honey-glazed cheek?

As crazy as it may sound,
An old maid passed the streets,
At three in the morning,
Carrying a flask of tea,
& hot golden samosas,
For the tired, lonely, and invisible souls.
Where you at?
I cannot sleep,
Is it my troubled mind, that is keeping me awake all night?
Or is it the moonlight from my window?
I try long and hard –
To go back to a peaceful world of dreams,
Where the night is dark and the sleep is deep.
But lately I’ve been up all night!
Tossing and turning,
Taking deep breaths,
Reading books,
Listening to meditative music to put me back to sleep…
Why isn’t anything helping?
What is it that I’ve been thinking?
Am I anxious or just excited?
What am I waiting for,
Or rather who am I waiting for?
No, stop it!
Stop thinking.
I need my sleep.
Let’s try going back to sleep.
Night night!

A stained tissue,
an empty coffee mug
on a quaint wooden table
a lingering fragrance of lavender
a lost mauve scarf.
