Drooping low,
With all that snow.
Hang in there, leaves!
It’s snowing and it’s so beautiful! My hands and feet are frozen, there is a winter storm outside, but please let it snow.

It is such a wonderful feeling to watch snowfall. This year’s first snowfall. It has been snowing since afternoon and I cannot stop looking outside.

Walking on a fresh white blanket of snow, making snowballs and sliding down slopes with snowflakes falling on our nose feels like a sweet happy fairy-tale.

In weather like this wrap yourself in a blanket and watch the snow fall outside the window with a hot cup of tea and some fudge brownies on the side. Let the smell of freshly baked goodies fill your house with warmth. If only I had a lap cat so I could run my fingers against its soft fur while enjoying this amazing view.

The days turn shorter and darker.
The skies have snuggled inside a grey blanket of clouds.
Trees stand stark naked begging for mercy
With their skeletal hands towards the skies.
The wind continually snores,
When disturbed its shrill howls will make one scamper.
Half-past 4 and the town is deserted,
Silence is all that remains.
There is hardly anything new left for me to see outside my window. The trees stand calmly as always, clustered together. Sometimes still, sometimes swaying with the wind.
The lawn is green and beautiful. Now and then, I see people on it who bring their dogs out for a walk. The streets are empty, mostly parked cars. There is just a driveway in my community. My community is wonderful but it is also very quiet and can sometimes be boring.
Earlier, I used to get excited looking at the different varieties of birds outside my window. I still do, but they haven’t become my friends yet! Like I said, life here is calm and quiet. Just what I had always dreamed of.. but do we really know what we want?
Today, I had an urge to peep into the houses of my neighbours. Just for a change, to see what other people are up to.. What are they cooking? What are they wearing? Which show is running on their TV? Did I just hear someone arguing? Are the children up to some mischief?
These silly things which I took for granted and found annoying back in India are the things that I often miss. I look outside my window and find trees clustered together. Back home, my family, friends, and neighbours were the clustered trees. Together. Now I wonder, what I am doing here away from my tribe? Where is my cluster?

Day 30 Inktober – Ominous
It was a full moon night,
A black raven was in sight,
Was that a howling cry?
Something ominous seems to arise.

Day 20 Inktober – Coral
Away from the roar of crashing waves lies the calm and vibrant coral reef.
Beauty is not always on the surface, sometimes it is beneath it.

Day 17 Inktober – Storm
The crackling of lightning is terrifying.
Yet, every time there is a storm,
Our eyes eagerly search the clouds
To get a glimpse of that flashing bolt of lightning again.
Storms are dark yet fascinating.

It can get pretty scary up there. But finding a cozy cabin house after a treacherous journey on the edge of a mountain cliff will feel like being reborn.
To make it a heavenly experience, drink tea by the window and enjoy the view.

The sun is setting,
The walk is long,
The dunes never ending,
But I must go on.

Day 10 Inktober – “Hope”
Who knew that Vitamin Sunshine would become so important? All my life I have been hiding from the harsh rays of the sun and applying sunscreen when on the beach.
Now, I run out every time I see clear blue skies where the sun is shining bright. Thanks to the Vitamin D deficiency that has taught me to embrace light for a healthier life and a positive frame of mind. Hence, this drawing of my sunlight/hope in a jar.
